"I have lived here for three years and the first two were great, so I decided to move to a two bedroom apartment, as my husband and I just got married and were expecting a baby. Zoe was incredibly helpful and kind and got us in to our new apartment immediately. Unfortunately, the neighbors above us were incredibly loud and inconsiderate. They run across the floor at all hours and it sounds like they are about to come through our ceiling. We complained to the office, and at first they were nice and apologetic. Then one day I spoke with Stephanie and she was incredibly rude, condescending, and tried to gaslight me into believing this was normal noise levels and convinced me if I was unhappy I should be the one to encure hundreds of dollars in moving fees and uproot myself and husband at 7m pregnant and move units. Then I got a lawyer involved to try and get out of the lease, and they were very good about making sure they get their money and stay out of being responsible for these noisy neighbors. Now I can only assume they screen my calls, because they don’t answer when I call to complain about the noise level. Which by the way can be heard even at 1am. My neighbors across the way also leave their trash outside leaking sticky liquid attracting ants that were starting to get into our apartment. They didn’t do anything about that either. This is not about your comfort in where you live. They don’t care about you. They care about getting their money. I now pay over $1800 to be miserable and I am stuck until my lease is up. It is a real shame because otherwise they’re very nice apartments. Don’t expect them to do anything about inconsiderate people living by you. You’ll be expected to move and inconvenience yourself.
Since I can’t respond to your response conveniently, I will be responding here:
Yes, you sent someone to the apartment who also agreed the noise level was absolutely unacceptable and referred us to talking to the Harris County Police who did absolutely nothing. Then when we reached back out to you to let you know this, and that we were still having issues, you suggested we move and spend over $2,000 in new rent, past rent, and moving fees. Did not offer to wave any of the fees. Did not even suggest that the people causing the issues move to a floor level apartment. Not to mention they are illegally living with more residents than they have on the lease. Then a member of your staff tried to suggest to me that it is normal to hear noise and if I don’t like that, I am welcome to move. While also talking down to me the entire time. You have not repeatedly called. You told me what it would cost to break my lease and said you were installing carpet. Lying on reviews to make yourself look better and making sure you do the bare minimum to make it look like you’ve dealt with the issue is not the same as actually dealing with the issue. And I find it convenient that you were only willing to talk to me about “fixing the issue” after I informed you I was hiring a lawyer to look into my lease. Which good job trapping people adequately by the way. Congratulations. We are stuck and miserable here and have hated living here to the extent of contemplating wiping out our savings just to leave. P.s shocker, the carpet did nothing. There are about 5 of them stomping around at all hours. Not looking forward to having my newborn child woken up at all hours due to the intolerable people above me. Cant wait to leave."
