On 09/09/2024 the Property Manager of The Vic unknowingly admitted (via text message,) to my Husband (a former staff member) in accessing our private mailbox, without our consent which is a Federal offense. When questioned about it, neither the Property Manager nor the Regional Property Director of The Vic at Woodforest would acknowledge or respond to our question of why they thought this was acceptable.
As you will see from the pictures attached , she obtained and had the knowledge of what was delivered and was inside of our mailbox. ( you will see from the screenshots attached below we received no explantation regarding this matter, from The Vic’s Property Manager and to no avail of any response from The Vic’s Regional Property Director and ultimately being left on a read status)
This being said without question, ALL tenant’s mailboxes are private government property and should be secured and locked at all times unless otherwise in use by the occupant or in use by USPS.
The Vic staff and management should under NO circumstances have the right to interfere with personal/private property, nor should ANYONE gain access to another persons mailbox, without authorization in doing so.
I would also like to add that the contents of the letter attached below, from The Vic, was dated 09/09/24, and the fact that we found it in our mailbox on 09/09/24, proves that the letter was in fact never mailed by USPS, and rather it was placed inside our private box BY STAFF of The Vic, as the Manager unknowingly admits her illegal actions .
Interference of tenant’s privacy rights is a federal crime in Texas. It is none of any of The Vic’s staff members business what a live-in resident or persons, receive in the mail or from whom! However in this review it’s regarded that our privacy rights were not protected by Management or staff members.
Since management has completely disregarded our complaint, we have no other choice but to turn this Federal Offense over to the proper authorities.
I also feel it necessary to share that a few months back, an attempted robbery of The Vic’s maintenance shop on the property occurred. (Please see images of the damage in screenshots below.) The staff members were advised not to mention this to current tenants, therefore telling not one of the residents following the occurrence. This is a security concern, not to mention also is a huge red flag as well.
Finally, please also be aware that it is suspected that management has learned to manipulate any negative reviews on their page, by creating “keywords not allowed” in the Google business settings, in effort to remove the low score ratings/reviews, elevate their score and give the consumer an unrealistic view of day to day life at The Vic. If this review disappears you will know why.
Please keep all this information in mind when finding a safe and reputable place to call home."
