"I've been a resident for almost 2.5 years only because I have a family member who lives 5 minutes from the community. The community has gotten from bad to worse and so has the Community Management.
For my first two years I dealt with internet issues for 1 year and A/C issues for almost 2 years. The Internet issue was resolved by Xfinity after 1 year of troubleshooting and blaming construction defects. But the A/C issue in my bathroom, where puddles of water constantly leaked when I turned on the bathroom fan, took countless trips to the management office and service request orders. So much so that I had to threaten to sue. I learned from the community's best maintenance tech that the first management approved different stages of construction during construction without properly ensuring everything was up to standard (i.e., they rushed the construction to meet deadlines). My unit was fixable; however, many units have moisture and mold issues due to construction defects that must be fixed through a construction insurance claim. I confronted management, and my issue was resolved after I disclosed that I knew about the construction defects in some units. My unit was fixable but they fired the maintenance tech unjustifiably for disclosing the information. That manager got replaced not too long after, most likely fired.
The new Manager (Paige) who replaced her is arrogant, confrontational, and seems to be entitled or has a chip on her shoulder. All gates have only worked probably 6 months in the aggregate in the past 3 years. They are always broken and we've had break-ins this past month to multiple vehicles. Delivery packages have also been stolen from front doors, which has happened to some of my neighbors and me. Management's solution was creating a half-ass package room with 2 large shelves, one on each wall, with columns for each building (3 shelves for each building). They are so small that packages are constantly put in the wrong building or extremely hard to find because of the limited space available. Couriers also always put packages on the floor or in the wrong building due to the limited space. After having had enough of all these issues and being unable to find a package again, I spoke to the new community manager, who didn't even introduce herself, and she immediately started getting defensive about my potentially lost package. She asked me if I was sure it was delivered, which was a dumb question since the package room sends a notification when a package is delivered to your unit. On top of that, you get a delivery notice from the courier. After providing her feedback on the stolen packages and the disorganized package room she did not apologize but instead rudely asked me "What was my solution?" instead of acknowledging the problem. I told her that other communities have locker rooms and her response was "That's out of our budget." I then told her that security needed to be ramped up so we could get our packages delivered to our front doors but I found it so unprofessional that her reply to the problem was, "What's your solution?" That's her job and obviously she is not good at it if she can't think of solutions or provide good customer service. If they have a limited budget for a package room, which I doubt, adding more shelving space for each building and having the leasing staff work on organizing the space would be a solution. However, her arrogance and lack of critical thinking prevent her from coming up with any solution. My package was found but since it was small, I was not able to find it among the pile of boxes and disorganization.
The last straw is the break-ins to multiple vehicles due to the broken gates. One of my neighbors asked me to keep an eye out on her car because of how unsafe she feels. There are so many more issues I could talk about, but I will definitely not be renewing my lease. The ineptitude of the head community managers has made this community not worth living in for the price. There are way better communities in the area that I'll be moving to."
