"This place does not have very good business practice when it comes to actually leaving at the end of your lease. Maintenance was fine, the living conditions were fine, the overall conditions of the complex were fine, what wasn't fine however was when our lease was supposed to end at the end of August on the 31st. But because we did not give them exactly two months notice they decided to add an additional month. When Brooklyn at the office called to offer us a $200 gift card for us to renew our lease, I told her specifically no thank you we would be leaving at the end of August as per our lease ended. This woman actually had the nerve to run say absolutely nothing about the two months notice, and two when we actually did move out she called us saying that we had technically broken the lease and demanded the final months rent of over 2500$. When I told her specifically about the phone call that we had a week and a half to two weeks prior to this occurrence.... She wants us dead in the eye and all she said was "you signed the contract" thankfully we got approved that our new location before we officially have a broken lease on all three of our records now. Her only two options for us even though I was a faithful tenant and never missed a bill payment for 5 years, was either a 3-month plan of paying over $800 a month, or to send it off to a debt collection agency and now it must be paid off or we're pretty much stuck at our new location for the next 7 years. Take notes and document everything you possibly can with the paperwork of your lease agreement. Always give over 2 months notice. And ask for copies of literally everything. Ever since Brooke left, they do not care about you here they do not have any Mercy for your situation no matter how long you have been a tenant they just want their money. I'm so disappointed and so irate that this is what the complex has come to in terms of standards and overall business practice. Again for the people who skipped all the way to the end. This woman was literally sitting at her computer looking at our lease agreement and said absolutely nothing and gave no warning that we were about to break our lease, even though I have been there for 5 YEARS. I'm so disgusted with this place and I absolutely do not recommend staying here. It looks great, but the paperwork will screw you over if your not careful and don't take immediate actions. My only regret is that I truly cannot go any lower than one star after how we were treated in this scenario. The response to this by hilltops is also not a true claim. I was NOT notified of this specification of a 60 day notice when lease ends. Brooklyn was on the phone looking at her computer when she made this call from the office and did not say ANYTHING about adding another month to our lease. This was a blindsided move and you showed absolutely NO fair compromise even though I was a resident for 5 YEARS with NO MISSED PAYMENTS. You should be ashamed that you try to turn the tables and deliberately lie. Those two told about all of that AFTER they said we broke the lease. Not before. I will not be called a liar just so you can save face like that. You screwed me and my family over and you hid behind paperwork. Plain and simple."
"Current resident. No real complaints, it’s been pretty normal here.
I will probably move when my lease is up but only because the walls are so thin. As soon as the AC turns off, you can hear EVERYTHING. I am happy that my neighbor and her man have sexy time but I really don’t like to hear them. Ordered a speaker, going to try playing white noise.
If that doesn’t bother you, or you sleep with noise going, this is a great place."
"I’ve lived in apartments for years now and they typically tell me the remaining balance left on the account through a phone call. Hilltops is stating the send me a single email on November 8th (which I never received) and did not try to connect with me in any other way and immediately sent it to collections.
I reviewed my email account, spam folder, and even my trash to ensure I never received it which led to my suspicions being true. They never made sure I acknowledged the balance due. No missed calls, no emails, nothing. Now, it’s being sent to collections during the holidays and could potentially affect my credit. As a small business owner, this is a serious lack of professionalism and shows why y’all’s ratings are going down. Truly, shame on y’all."
"I went on a tour here a few days ago and had an awesome experience! The staff tended to all of my questions and were very knowledgeable! Once my lease is up at my current property I will definitely pay them another visit. The grounds were so beautiful and they offered some cool amenities"
"Don't recommend moving here, especially in Building 9. There is a neighbor here on the 3rd floor who leaves her dogs alone for hours on end to SCREAM and cry. The apartment complex has been aware of this for about a year now and have basically only given them a slap on the wrist. I know I am not the only resident that has complained as someone in the office told me I was one of many. The neighbors have even acknowledged thay they KNOW the dogs are a problem and have just said, "yeah, sorry". No attempt to resolve at all. I feel bad for whoever moves into this building once we leave soon, as they are absolute problem and disrespectful neighbors. I can also hear them screaming and arguing outside the hallways and in the apartment almost daily as well. They blatantly do not care that they are rude and are not embarrassed by their behavior. I hope that anyone who sees this does NOT chose the apartment I left, you will get ZERO peace. Best of luck to the other residents who have complained and are still dealing with this, I hope they all move soon"
"The move in process was super quick and easy. Came in on a Saturday and was moved in by Thursday. Samantha was very helpful and super sweet. So far we are loving it!"
