"As a current resident of 4.5 months, and not someone who was here for a 40-minute tour, I have observed several issues at this complex that need addressing.
Despite being new, these apartments suffered major mold damage after a power outage caused by Beryl. The mold wasn’t from the storm but due to utility issues when power was restored. I’m now consulting third-party professionals to see if proper construction could have prevented this.
We were told we had to vacate due to the mold since repairs couldn't happen while we stayed, citing security risks. However, after more electricity problems, the leasing manager called the move a "courtesy," making me wonder if we could’ve stayed. While they did cover movers, which helped, the hassle of updating licenses, addresses, and utilities was a headache.
There’s also been constant issues with the complex’s internet provider, taking over a month to fix. Plus, the electricity flickers often, even before Houston’s electric problems due to Beryl, causing brief power outages.
The fire alarm once went off at midnight by mistake, waking us up and causing unnecessary distress.
When we moved in, the apartment wasn’t cleaned after construction. Despite being new, I had to spend hours cleaning before settling in. The same thing happened when we relocated due to the mold. I was told the new unit had been cleaned, but I found construction dust. A staff member even admitted this was common, which is unacceptable, especially for someone like me with allergies. Photos attached show the dust even after multiple cleanings.
After expressing my frustration, I felt unheard and gaslit. The leasing office staff did not acknowledge failing to meet my expectations. Shortly after, a staff member came to inspect the unit I was cleaning. She then stated that there were standards to be met, but this should have been communicated originally rather than implying that my concerns weren’t valid because she had the same problem, which didn’t seem like an issue to her. The staff member took photos of the dirt and acknowledged the issues I pointed out, which felt like damage control after I mentioned I would leave an honest review.
On the bright side, the apartments look nice, and the maintenance man is friendly, always saying hi to us.
Overall, the lack of accountability and responsiveness from the staff affects the living experience here.
I’ll keep updating this review to give a full picture. If you still plan to move in, feel free to reach out.
Update: I recently used the club room kitchen for a photoshoot, and a leasing agent, aware of these complaints, deliberately walked through our equipment when there was entire side of the kitchen where we were not occupying space. It felt petty, especially when my original complaints (that I am assuming they're upset about) could’ve been avoided, which is why I requested our new unit to be cleaned. It feels like this employee is mad at my review and *tried* to irritate me by invading my personal space. This was my FIRST time using this amenity."
