"I lived in this complex from Nov. 2020- Aug. 2024 in both buildings 6 and 12. Initially I never had issues outside of the trash compactor and raccoons. I read reviews before moving in and decided I could handle the trash and raccoon issues, but I wish I would have given it a second thought. You have to take your trash out early or the one small compactor for the whole complex will be full. If you happen to take your trash out after dark, some of the raccoons may decide to chase you. I also had raccoons take shelter from winter storms in my car's engine bay multiple times, and they completely tore up the insulating lining (not a huge deal, but very annoying).
In 2023, I moved to building 12 and that’s when things took a turn for the worse. The unit I moved into had carpet from the previous tenant or two, had dog fur everywhere, and wasn’t cleaned out properly. Additionally, I was unable to see the apartment for a scheduled showing because the cleaning crew had taken the key home with them. I still moved in against my better judgment, and as you might imagine, things continued to get worse. Sometime in the Spring, when contractors were cleaning an apartment on the 3rd floor, they dumped some sort of cleaning solution onto the ground from the balcony and onto my car parked below. Management didn’t care when I brought the issue to their attention. In July, the neighbor below me informed me that she had mold growing on her walls and on her clothes. She mentioned that she had a leak during Beryl, and her entire apartment smelled like mildew. She moved out shortly after, but I began noticing a mildew smell in our unit. I expressed my concern to management, and they sent a contractor to review whether the walls had moisture using a probe-less meter. They didn’t find anything, but I continued to smell mildew in the apartment. I opened up the AC vents and found mold in the main bedroom’s air vent. A few days after the contractor inspected the walls, a leak formed in the main bathroom’s ceiling. The issue was reported and maintenance was unable to figure out the cause for two weeks. They even closed the ticket at one point, and I had to call to open it back up. When they finally began to address the leak, they opened a hole in the ceiling and left it there for 4 days (I had to cover it up myself) exposing me to mold. During this time, one of the contractors (drywall or plumbing) left with maintenance’s copy of the apartment key and I had to be home anytime they needed access to my unit. I still am unsure how long some random contractor had access to my apartment due to management’s negligence. Additionally, maintenance lied about not having a key to the apartment and tried to brush the issue under the rug. At this point, I was already boxed up and moving out. To their credit, they did finally fix the leak after calling in plumbers. I’m unsure if they ever did anything to address the mold growth shown in the pictures, but I certainly hope they did.
To sum up my experience; the trash/pest issue has been ongoing for over 4 years, management doesn’t care about anything other than taking your money, management also doesn’t seem to require that contractors return your keys after each day, and finally management will review and remove any negative or informative posts in the community forum (there were contractors leaving bottles full of pee in the parking lot and a bobcat that roams the back of the complex).
Don’t be fooled by the 5 star positive reviews… When I moved in back in 2020, I was asked to leave a positive review after scheduling a viewing because they were allegedly under new management and needed positive reviews to save their jobs. I can only imagine they’re telling the same story now."
