"I lived at Novu for the past three years, and my experience has been increasingly negative. When I first moved in, the property was well-maintained, with clean pools, well-kept hallways, and a responsive administration. Unfortunately, over time, the quality of service and maintenance has significantly declined. The pool is frequently dirty, and the common areas are often littered with trash.
The most troubling aspect of my time here has been the treatment I received from the administration, particularly from Stephanie Campos. On one occasion, while working out with my trainer at the gym—who does not live here—Stephanie informed me that I could not have a trainer because "there are more people who need to use the gym," despite the gym being empty at that time. When I questioned her further, she told me that I shouldn’t be in the gym at all because I was not listed on the leasing contract, which was the first time this had been mentioned in three years of residence.
After this interaction, I promptly submitted my information to be added to the leasing contract, and was later able to use the gym facilities on my own. However, I couldn’t help but notice that Stephanie never enforced the unit number checks with other gym users, many of whom appeared to be underage and likely not listed on the contracts.
I couldn’t shake the feeling that the enforcement of these rules was inconsistent and possibly influenced by personal biases. Whether due to my race, sexual orientation, or both, the treatment felt unjust and discriminatory.
Overall, my experience at Novu has been deeply disappointing. The decline in property maintenance coupled with the unfair and seemingly biased treatment by certain staff members has overshadowed any positive aspects of living here. I hope my feedback helps future residents make a more informed decision."
