"As a repeat tenant of this property pre (2018-2020) and post Greystar management (2022-2024) here are some of my experiences. Mind you, I chose to return to the property after new management had taken over and wanting to live under my means due to the overall pricing. You get what you pay for, and in this market I understand why this property is chosen due to its “reasonable” pricing, but as stated…You get what you pay for:
- a/c in my unit went out on average monthly or every other month. There would be times I would come come home and my thermostat was at 82+ degrees, where it felt better to be outside than inside. Often calling the emergency maintenance and having to wait up for someone to input a makeshift unit into my unit through the window often due to not having a part available (weekday or weekend) or simply not knowing what the overall solution was. Upon the last time this occurred, the maintenance team seemingly had a fix, however that was about a month and a half ago and I am now moving out.
- Roach infestation. Not in my unit but either one or two levels below me causing my unit to need to have “precautionary treatment”, which I appreciated, however, I had to pack up my apartment TWICE (full kitchen) due to miscommunications from the front office and the treatment company, where incorrect instructions of whether the cabinets needed to be fully emptied or if the perimeter was just to be sprayed.
- The freight elevator nearest to my apartment was often down, the most recent time being 2 weeks ago. The elevator was inoperable for a total of 10 days. At 6 days, I reached out to the front office for an ETA to which they responded they were unaware that the elevator was out of order. If they were truly unaware, that is quite concerning. Adversely, if they were unaware the lack of urgency for correction is apparent. I was told that the elevator should be fixed on my follow up on Day 7, however the elevator, was not actually fixed until 3 days later.
- If your unit faces Hwy 6 closest to the garage, you WILL hear the dump trucks emptying the garbage cans at odd hours of the early morning and night. The walls are thin regardless, but something to note.
- Speaking of thin walls…the walls are thin. I specifically chose my unit to only have one shared wall to deal with excess noise and living on the top floor as my previous unit from 2018-2020 was on the 1st floor and the average tap dancing upstairs neighbor reigned rightly true.
- The front office staff changes very often which likely speaks volumes to the overall operation of the property and/or management company.
- I have never seen any maintenance or upkeep of the hallways during either stint at the property, whether shampooed or vacuumed. However, the elevator, when operable, was mopped, although likely to the amount of dog pee weekly. (This is my experience with the sole elevator nearest my apartment and that was mainly used for my needs).
- Parking is an interesting situation. There have been break ins as well as there is limited parking although having a 5 story garage. From my understanding people are less wanting to park on the top floor due to the most break ins happening due to low visibility. I would absolutely implore you to get a reserved parking spot if you choose this property, although the amount of reserved spots are also limited and I believe are about $70/month.
- There’s a mixed crowd of tenants, both old and “young” (early 20’s)… there are people who stay for long durations. I would chalk that up to the pricing of the apartments (you will absolutely get a price increase upon renewal, I’d suggest negotiating where possible, if possible) and not necessarily the overall quality and amenities.
- The complex was built in 2016.. and the wear and tear is evident in some areas including the issues with the a/c units. Small details such as the doors not perfectly aligning in the door frames, causing gaps at the top and/or bottom when the door is “closed”, additionally the door leading to the.. part 2 coming due to character limits"
