"Staff is friendly and great at communicating with residents, unfortunately the tenants don’t clean up after their dogs and there are dog excrements everywhere. More egregious is how cheap the cabinetry and finishes are to the apartments considering the price they go for.
Edit: took away one more star, the community is advertised as “gated”, the gate has been broken and subsequently deactivated for the vast majority of the time I’ve now lived here."
"There are a few safety concerns that have been going on for over a year now. The entrance and exit gates do not work properly. (They worked for a few weeks out of the past year). This malfunction allows vehicles to enter and exit without any control or restriction. People drive in through the “exit only” gate like bats out of hel l. I’ve almost been rammed head on by my fellow neighbors several times. There are absolutely no speed bumps in the complex. Not one. It’s paradise for people who love to speed through residential areas where children are outside playing and furry friends are out on walks. Turning into the complex is an extreme safety hazard. There isn’t a deceleration lane to allow you to safely turn into the complex. You are left to turn from a live highway lane risking your life every time and exiting the complex is the same issue. There isn’t an acceleration taper to merge into oncoming highway traffic. This should’ve been addressed with the city a long time ago by the property management and if resident support is needed to make it happen, every resident would agree! Moving on, the walls are so thin. I can hear every footstep my neighbor takes and every alarm he sets. Maintenance is quick with repairs. However, for the price you pay to live here that’s how it should be. Boterra is most definitely the better option if you are trying to decide between them and Smart Living. They have them beat simply by having a welcoming team when you walk in to inquire about pricing and tours. Please address the safety concerns, people’s lives are at risk."
"My house needed major renovations and I needed to find an apartment quickly. I went to several different apartment complexes in the Texas City area which were very disappointing until I visited Boterra. It was my last stop on an exhausting Saturday where Megan greeted me with the biggest smile. I didn’t think I could afford it, but she explained the incentives to me which would knock my rent down. She also asked if I wanted a garage or a yard. A yard in an apartment complex for my dog to relieve herself without putting on a leash? I was sold. I moved in exactly a week later. Megan was there every step of the way even helping program my door.The apartment is so comfortable and new. The area is quiet and the amenities phenomenal. Everyone in the front office greets you with a smile. They made a really bad situation turn into a stress free experience."
"The “action plan” as described in response to my previous review regarding excessive dog barking was , “You just have to wait until they move out.” Outside of them asking the people to control the dog months ago. No accountability and management ignored many of emails with ample video proof ."
"Spectacular experience!!! I moved in early January and Megan made it the easiest process of the apartments I've lived in. She walked me through the entire process with a smile on her face. she helped me with my service animal paperwork and made sure that I received every veteran benefit they offered while thanking me for my service. The maintenance crew fixed the only 2 problems I had brought up within hours. The apartment doesn't feel like an apartment, it feels like a home. Excited for the times that come living here. Thank you Megan for all of your assistance!!"
