"I lived in Avalon Square Apartment Complex for almost 6 years. It was a very pleasant experience. Laura, the property manager of the apartment, is wonderfully kind and considerate. She takes care of her residents, and the staff and maintenance are also very helpful. I know someone may hesitate to consider this apartment complex a top choice as they explore their options, especially since the apartment complex seems a bit old. Despite the age of the apartment, I thoroughly enjoyed living here for several reasons. (I would still be living here had I not left Houston.) As said earlier, Laura is very caring and her crew is responsive. This can make a huge difference in one’s living experience. The apartment complex is also located in one of the best neighborhoods of Houston, right at the edge of River Oaks. The neighborhood is extremely safe such that one can take walks or runs during nights without any concern. Everything one needs is conveniently located within 2-3 miles from the apartment. Also, the apartment is very reasonably priced given that it is in a premier Houston neighborhood. Thanks to Laura and her team!"
"I have lived in several different areas and apartments throughout Houston and Avalon Square was not the newest, but it was my favorite as far as experience and location go! Laura, Carla, and the entire maintenance staff are wonderful people. They truly care about you and are timely in responses to issues (though I experienced very few issues living here).
I lived in a 1 br and found it to be extremely spacious with plenty of closets. Though the kitchen was small, it had a ton of storage space. I had a couple of issues with the A/C when Houston turned into a sauna overnight, but within hours of me sending a maintenance request it was fixed. If you can find a unit with South facing windows the natural lighting is wonderful!
The complex is extremely dog friendly! They knew my pooch by name and always had treats ready for her when we came by the office. There are spaces out front for pets to do their business and there is also a great neighborhood behind the complex to walk your dog.
For folks complaining about the washer/dryers smoking out, yes, it can happen. However, Laura and Carla gave explicit instructions when I moved in that overloading washers was not a good idea. There are signs posted everywhere warning against it, so it's more a matter of neighbors being courteous to one another. I've also never lived in an apartment where a fire alarm didn't go off at some point, so if that's your expectation apartment life is probably not for you.
The complex offers pest control, and I never had any issues with bugs or other vermin.
For the location you won't find a better price, it's walking distance to restaurants, bars, parks, grocery stores, etc. Can't recommend Avalon Square and Laura and Carla highly enough! Pictures for reference."
"I lived here for almost 3.5 years. The maintenance and property management teams genuinely care. It will not be the newest apartment you see in the area, but the location and people who help you while you live there are what makes it special."
"I lived here for almost 5 years and loved it. There's PLENTY of parking in front and in the garage. In the Houston heat, it was always nice to have the option to park down below and have my car be cool and protected from the elements. Laura was the best apartment manager I have ever had. She was super personable and kind. Anna in the office was great too. Whenever I went in they always knew exactly who I was and greeted me by name. Maintenance was very fast, and Anna would text me after the completion of a request to make sure everything was handled satisfactorily. Had I not relocated for work, I would still live here. It was a nice community and a great value for the neighborhood."
"I've lived here more than 4 years. Living in this community has been a positive experience. The staff from the Property Manager to maintenance have been fantastic. the maintenance is super fast, and the property manager is super nice, understandable.....I love this apartment!"
